If you think Adoption is the right choice for you and your baby, your next question may be, “Where do I go from here?”. It is important to gather as much adoption information as you can and take your time in making your decision.
There are different types of adoption:
Allows you the freedom to select the adoptive parents and to get to know them. You can meet them, exchange information and have ongoing contact with them. The contact and communication can continue after placement.
This choice allows you to select the parents, but full identifying information is not exchanged. First names are often shared, but usually in this instance each party enjoys privacy. You will be able to receive letters and pictures of your baby’s family, and they will be sent through the agency.
This option is for birth parents who want to remain completely anonymous. The adoption agency will choose a family that is a good fit for your wishes. Your identity will be protected before, during and after the adoption is complete.
